It felt sad saying goodbye to Elder McEwan. Even after 35 years now in the church, missionary moves day often feels the same.
At the time, it was a new Experience for a young boy. When it was Elder DePriest's turn to move, he gave me his Levi flared jeans which I wore with pride. No one else at
school had a real pair of Levis, and certainly not American ones Which were already faded and aged. He also gave me a Mickey Mouse
Tee shirt, which I cherished and wore well
into when I was married.
One day, the T shirt (now not much better
than a rag, but still worn regularly) disappeared.
My wife Nicola, still can’t remember throwing it out. I dont think she really new how much it meant. I still tell her off about it.
